The Clip Show Edition
So here's the thing...
I recently found some email addresses for very old friends, most of them from my days in the Beehive State, people I love and miss very much (if you're reading this you know who you are).
So in one fell swoop I thought I'd run through a recap of the last 6 years or so, to catch those people up...in Hollywood, it's a clip show.
In 1999 I moved to Utah. Lots of stuff happened. (If this was television you'd see flashbacks right now...if you're a Deadhead you're probably seeing flashbacks anyway...)
In March of 2001 I met Shelley. In December of 2001 I left Utah. In 2003 Shell and I got married and I moved to Canada because she's Canadian and wanted to come home. In May of 2004 we bought a house in the country. In August of 2004 I started at the University of Toronto. In December of 2004 we found out we're having a baby.
Ok so it's May now. If you missed any pertinent details you can read through the archives.
The TGIF is my weekly (or whenever I feel like) weblog/journal/blog of thoughts, rants, and stories, sometimes funny, sometimes not. Oh and yes...loads of pictures.
So we're all caught up now. (Really, I'm excited you're here reading this...trust me)
As you might notice I've added a new little TGIF banner with me, sacked out on the couch and drooling, a bottle tucked under my arm. While this picture is somewhere in the neighborhood of 36 years old, I assure you the modern version of me is really not much different (except the contents of the bottle are slightly more adult these days). If you venture to my house on a lazy Sunday afternoon you're likely to find me in the golf room, on my couch, sacked out and drooling.
My back is slowly improving and I should be back to work next week. The antibiotics I'm taking are a real treat, and the pain medication has to be taken with food, which means at 3am I'm shoveling a banana down...it's pretty sad. I missed softball this week obviously, but my team won without me...which is great except for the egomaniacal me who thinks everything will fail without me, but I try to keep that me locked up for good reason.
This is a long weekend here in Canada so Shell has a nice 3-day weekend to rest up and I think we're going to work on the baby's room. Which means new reno pictures as the summer wears on!
And boy is it beautiful here now. It's still fairly cool, but the gardens are starting to take some shape.
New pictures of the puppies:

To update the Canadian political blurb I posted on Wednesday...
The Liberal government managed to survive by a single vote last night in the budget showdown. There will likely be an election next summer, unless something else pops up in the next few months.
I finished the Ellis book on George Washington and highly recommend it to you. Now its on to Hamilton and Burr and the fun of dueling intrigue.
Until next time,
Cheers
