About Me

Name::ron st.amant
From::Toronto, Ontario, CA
I'm an American living in Canada because my wife made me...no, no it was my choice...see honey, I said it! In September of '05 we had our first child and the rollercoaster got even more scary. Oh and I'm probably coughing...or complaining about it.

The Ultrasound Update Edition

So we're back from the ultrasound and things are much better than first suspected. They want us back in 3 weeks to have another look but they were extremely positive that everything is going to go well throughout the pregnancy. There's still a possibility that Shell won't be able to deliver the baby naturally, but we're hoping at least that she won't have to be on bed rest barring some other problem. We're not out of the woods yet, but we feel so much better. 3 weeks should give us a better knowledge of where we are so hang in there everybody. The ultrasound was very thorough and we even finally got to see that indeed, as I must admit I was hoping........ It's a GIRL!!! The people downtown were fantastic to deal with, and the radiologist (we didn't have a closed-mouth tech this time) was helpful and showed us lots of baby, including closeups of arms and legs and hands :) Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures because this was a different course of ultrasound, but I was able to see the blood pumping in the umbilibcal cord and we heard the artery pumping away. Pretty cool. Shell is feeling good aside from a slight case of starvation because the day was so long and complicated that she couldn't eat much (in fact on the way out she was so hungry she stood in front of the snack machine and I'm fairly certain she was vibrating...I was worried for innocent bystanders that she might lunge at them and cannibalize them...but alas I was able to get her a candy bar to tide her over AND SAVE LIVES!!) So we're still being cautious but very positive and hopeful that everything is going to be okay.

I'm so very happy for you both, Ron. I'm glad that the baby and Shell are doing fine, and I am thrilled that you're having a girl. Just remember "Donna" is always a nice name. :)
